Dirikka 2012+

Dirikka 2012+ is a unique program for Aalto students to join in with businesses, the public sector, research and training. The goal: become a new generation of leaders who are able to truly think holistically and take new approaches towards sustainability.

Dirikka is an initiative by the Kausaali Company, carried out in cooperation with Aalto University. It brings together organizations and students from various backgrounds, mixing up theories and methods to co-create sustainability success stories.

Both the public and private sectors find themselves with a growing need for innovative models, and Dirikka is a direct response to this. The students work in interdisciplinary teams to develop new sustainability management concepts for participating organizations.

The program begins in May 2012 with a comprehensive training program for students and program collaborators. This training offers participants a systemic perspective on the challenges and opportunities related to sustainability, and provides them with concrete tools to tackle these issues.

During the summer months, the students will put theory into practice as they work alonside their private and public sector collaborators. The program culminates in December 2012, when the concepts created within the program are presented in a seminar.
