News / Aalto Global Impact matchmaking and co-creation event

Aalto University has made a brave promise to change the world for a better place to live. Aalto Global Impact is a new community for people who are inspired to contribute to this pledge and believe that doing together is far better than doing in silos.

 

Time: Thursday 19th April, 2012 from 12.00 to 17.00
Place: Aalto Design Factory, Studio, Betonimiehenkuja 5, and Lämpömiehenkuja 2, Espoo


The Aalto Global Impact matchmaking event brings together a variety of participants, opening access to people and organizations in order to spark and encourage collaboration.

It is organized as an “open space” workshop, allowing participants to select the themes they wish to discuss.

The event will also serve to highlight and develop the work around themes and focus countries where collaboration already exists, or that Aalto Global Impact wishes to explore further in the near future.

These include:
- South Africa: World Design Capital 2012-2014, Helsinki meets Cape Town
- India and Sri Lanka: Inclusive Innovation in Health and Well-being Sector
- Chile and Peru: Design and Rapid Development in Innovation
- Tanzania and Mozambique: Creative Sustainability
- Uganda: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
- Youth: Innovative Entrepreneurship

In addition to the Finnish partners, people from South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Netherlands, Poland and United States have confirmed their participation.
