News / Register now for the 4th Sustainable Summer School
12.03.2012
With its theme so apt for Helsinki's WDC programme, the Sustainable Summer School has great expectations this year. It's hosted at Suomenlinna Fortress - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - and offers workshops in aesthetics, mobility, and simplicity. Register now and join in from August 25th to September 3rd.

Participants spend a week on Suomenlinna island, a 15-minute ferry ride from downtown Helsinki. This year's themes, led by professors and instructors from five different European universities, are closely intertwined with economic patterns, human desires, and realistic views on changing people's behaviour by offering benefits inherent in sustainable living.
Register here and choose from four workshops, each with an ear to the ground in today's field of sustainability design:
Sustainable Tourism: Travel, Trouble, Transitions
held by Bernd Draser and Davide Brocchi / ecosign - Akademie für Gestaltung
Sustainable Transition by mobile services
held by Prof. Dr. Brigitte Wolf / University of Wuppertal and Prof. Eero Miettinen, Aalto University
The Aesthetics of Simple Living
held by Prof. Nina Gellersen / HSLU Lucerne and Luzius Schnellmann / HSLU Lucerne
Rediscovering happiness
held by Prof. Anke Bernotat / Folkwang University of the Arts - Industrial Design and Gwendolyn Kulick
