The Design Exploration and Experimentation: Family project is nearing its end. The students are placing finishing touches to their works, which will be presented at the Design Museum next Tuesday, March 6th. Before the big day we take a look behind the scenes, including a pilot project by Maarten den Breeijen.
Can socially aware design approaches really offer something meaningful that we can adopt today, and will they be relevant even tomorrow? Aalto University will strive to answer these questions in a seminar organised, as part of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 program.
On March 6th, after two months of hard work, three winning teams were chosen from among 9 finalists.

The application period for Aalto University’s programmes has begun on March 5, 2012. The application deadline is April 3, 2012. The Aalto University programmes lead to the degree of Bachelor of Arts or Master of Science in Economics, Technology, Architecture or Landscape Architecture and the Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration.
Protective guards are already being erected around the Pavilion work site on the plot between the Design Museum and Museum of Finnish Architecture in Helsinki.
March will see the start of an Aalto University project in which students will design a residential area based on energy efficient wooden houses in Helsinki. The NEPTUNE Network brought together multidisciplinary research and students from different parts of Europe for the “Design for Living Environment, From Micro to Macro” event organised 9 – 17 March 2012.
